It arrives from Sardinia and it is called ARIA project, the scientific laboratory for the distillation of Argon-40, a chemical element fundamental in the research of dark matter<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is realized thank to the collaboration between INFN<\/strong>, National Institute of Nuclear Physics <\/strong>and Regione Sardegna<\/strong>. 
The ARIA collaboration is constituted by the INFN together with Carbosulcis<\/strong>, a subsidiary of the Sardinia Region that manages the mining plant, the Princeton University<\/strong>, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia<\/strong>, the University of Cagliari,<\/strong> the University of Sassari<\/strong>, the Politecnico di Milano,<\/strong> the Fermi National Laboratory<\/strong>, ENEA<\/strong>, the ITIM <\/strong>(Cluj Napoca – Romania<\/strong>) e many others institutes and universities taking part of the DarkSide-20k<\/strong> collaboration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The infrastructure is unique and it has been inaugurated<\/a> on September 21 2018, in Sardinia, in the Monte Sinni mine, in Sulcis-Iglesiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A view on the Seruci mine, Gonnesa (Carbonia) which will host the facilities for the distillation of Argon-40, a chemical element important in the research of dark matter. The plant will be important also for the research in the field of advanced medical diagnostic. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
