On the 7th November 2019, physicist all around Europe celebrate the “European Radon Day” dedicated to Marie Sklodowska Curie and radioactivity.
In Italy, the event is promoted by Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and it will take place in 10 different cities.
In Cagliari, the event is organized by the local section of the institute together with the Physics Department of Cagliari University and will take place at Liceo Scientifico Pitagora in Selargius.
During the day, INFN and ARPA Sardenga researchers will talk about Radon and natural radioactivity and related problematics explaining how to circumvent some of them.
Among the speakers there will be also a small delegation of students coming from Liceo Scientifico Pitagora and Istituto Tecnico Primo Levi (Quartu Sant’Elena): their talks will be focused on the “Radon Project“, an early project lead by INFN where students are involved in the measurements of Radon concentration in their own houses.
